Tuesday

The holiday celebrations are over. We are back to our daily grinds. Abigail is officially now a middle school graduate. Her tassels have been moved from the right side to the left side.

This was the short version. Now the slightly longer version is here.

The surprise guest for that came to the graduation was her 22 year old sister who resides in Florida. Her arrival was kept in secret so tight that nobody except us and the sister knew about it.

She arrived on Saturday and when we brought her home from the airport she rang the doorbell while we hid. You should have seen Abigail's face when she opened the door. Her surprise and joy was just unbelievable.

Sunday the sisters and their brother went in to Manhattan and had a great time there. I guess sometimes it is nice being without a parent.

Monday was the graduation ceremony which was pretty nice. It was amazing to se ow different kids of the same age are. Some are still extremely childish while others behaved like serious adults. I don't know which would I prefer. I guess a little bit of both.

After the ceremony we went to a photo studio to have a few social family pictures taken where everybody pretended to like everybody else. After the photo shoot we all went out to dinner. That was pretty much the end of the celebration.

This morning up early and out to the airport where the eldest daughter boarded her flight and headed home.

In short, it was a little stormy family reunion. The kids have a tendency to hold their mother responsible for everything and I just don't like it. A few time even I lost my cool which is rare with me.

Speaking about Abigail. She just informed us that tomorrow her and about nine "close" friends are going to Coney Island to spend the day there and we are the responsible adults.

Do we need this? My wife and I could have nice day together but no, we have to chaperone ten kids whom we don't even know to a day at the beach.
